A sprawling weekend snowstorm dumped almost a foot of the white stuff in central Pennsylvania as it heads into New England, where strong winds and heavy snow are forecast.
The National Weather Service warned near-blizzard conditions are possible for coastal areas of Maine on Sunday before the storm moves out. Up to 14 inches of snow could fall there.
Upper elevations in northern Pennsylvania and southern New York saw double-digit snow totals on Saturday. Five inches were reported in New York City's Central Park and more than six inches in several locations in Connecticut.
Airlines canceled more than 200 flights Sunday, far less than the 1,000 canceled Sunday. Slick roadways, meanwhile, complicated shopping plans less than two weeks before Christmas.
