Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have broken their silence on bullying allegations made by Michael Costello.
In a lengthy statement, Teigen accused Costello of faking the screenshots of alleged messages sent by her in 2014.
In the screenshots, the former model allegedly threatened to end the designer’s career.
however, according to Teigen, there are several inconsistencies in the screenshots.
Instagram’s video chat icon can be seen in the screenshots, even though it wasn’t launched until 2018.
The old profile picture and these new Instagram features could not co-exist in the same authentic screenshot, Chrissy Teigen.
Teigen said that she “will not stand for anyone spreading false accusations to further demean her name and reputation”.
John Legend, also tweeted about the incident, claiming the exchange "was made up, completely fake, never happened”.
Legend also questioned why anyone "would fake DMs to insert themselves in this narrative”.
