The Golden Globes Vows To Reform Amid Diversity Scandal

The HFPA, the organization behind the Golden Globes, has revealed its plan to diversify the company.
The HFPA said that it is committing to “transformational change” in the next 60 days.
It is going to add Black and other underrepresented professionals to the organization.
As well as hire independent experts to audit the HFPA’s bylaws and membership requirements.
The HFPA is also going to hire a law firm to create a process for reporting and investigating ethical violations.
We are committed to achieving these objectives in order to increase transparency in our organization and build a more inclusive community, The HFPA.
Advocacy organization Time’s Up is “not so sure” about the HFPA’s efforts to change.
Time's Up CEO Tina Tchen said that “specific details, timetables for change and firm commitments” need to be seen.
Ratings for the Golden Globe Awards fell 64% from 2020 to 6.9 million viewers.
