Tesla's China Ambitions — Not Tariffs — Might Hinder the Company

As the U.S.-China trade war heats up, the electric car company signed an agreement in Shanghai to build a plant it says will produce 500,000 vehicles a year. But given Tesla's track record of missing production targets, the carmaker might not live up to its promise. "What's going to hurt Tesla in getting up to speed in China is, as always, their ambition," says Marty Padgett, editorial director of Internet Brands Automotive.
