Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez has avoided jail time after a court in Spain upheld his appeal.
The Spanish court upheld Hernandez’s appeal against a six-month sentence for disobeying a restraining order.
The restraining order was put in place in 2017 after the french defender was convicted of domestic violence.
Hernandez had until Oct. 28 to enter prison voluntarily, but Section 26 of Madrid’s provincial court suspended his sentence.
Hernandez has instead been ordered by the courts to pay a €96,000 fine instead.
In February 2017, he was given a restraining order preventing him from being within 500 meters of his then-girlfriend and now wife.
He was arrested in June 2017 for defying the restraining order after landing in Madrid along with his wife following their marriage.
