70% Of Gamers Use Video Games To Socialize With Friends

A survey from game developer Jagex has found that nearly half of gamers are gaming more since the pandemic started. However, the survey of 2,000 gamers also found that 71% were using games as a way to socialize with their friends or family. Just under half of the people surveyed only play games between 8 PM and midnight. Only 7% admitted to playing video games between midnight and 4 AM. 37% said that they don’t eat anything while playing, while only 10% said that they eat junk food. The stereotype of gamers as people who play on their own, in their basement, drinking energy drinks just isn't necessarily valid anymore, Phil Mansell, CEO of Jagex. However, 8% of people surveyed admitted to playing video games while they should be working.
