Snap Removing Controversial Filter

Snap is removing the controversial “speed filter” feature from its Snapchat app.
The feature was first introduced in 2013 and allowed users to display their current speed in miles or kilometers per hour.
Over the years, many have claimed that the feature encouraged reckless driving and has been involved in many fatal accidents.
The feature has become harder to find in recent years, with it first being demoted to a sticker and then put in a separate menu.
Today the sticker is barely used by Snapchatters, and in light of that, we are removing it altogether, Snap Spokesperson.
The U.S. Ninth Circuit court said a family could sue Snap after the filter was involved in an accident that saw three men die.
