Yankees manager Aaron Boone is taking a leave of absence after receiving a pacemaker.
The 48-year-old underwent surgery on March 3 in Florida where his side are training, the operation went as planned.
Boone said he had been suffering from mild symptoms of lightheadedness, low energy and shortness of breath.
He then went for a series of tests and medical exams prior to arriving in Florida for spring training.
While the heart checkup came back normal, there were indications of a low heart rate which, after further consultations with doctors in Tampa, necessitates a pacemaker, Aaron Boone, Yankees Manager.
Boone underwent open-heart surgery while he was still a player in 2009 to replace his bicuspid valve.
He expects to return to work with the Yankees sometime over the next several days.
