Los Angeles Angels’ Shohei Ohtani may not pitch again this season due to a sore right arm.
Ohtani felt soreness when playing catch, according to Angels manager Joe Maddon.
According to Maddon, the team currently has no plans for Ohtani to have his soreness examined by a doctor.
The team have also not yet determined when Ohtani will try to resume playing catch.
The 27-year-old hasn’t pitched for the Angels since Sept. 10 in the team’s loss to the Houston Astros.
The injury won’t stop Ohtani from continuing to serve as a designated hitter for the team.
