Morikawa won the 149th Open at Royal St George’s with a two-shot victory over Jordan Spieth.
The 24-year-old won his first major on his US PGA Tour Championship debut last year.
After his victory, Morikawa said he was looking forward to making this trip every year.
"Look at all these fans. To see some of the best crowds I have ever seen, I'm looking forward to making my trip every year," Collin Morikawa.
Defending champion Shane Lowry finished the Open tied for 12th place on six under par.
