The NFL has increased the minimum salary cap to $180 million for the 2021 season.
The news was confirmed in a memo sent by the league to all 32 teams on February 18.
The new agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players Association is an increase of $5 million over last year's.
The final cap number is yet to be set by the league and will be announced after reviewing the final 2020 revenue figures.
The salary cap for 2020 was $198.2 million an increase from $188.2 million in 2019.
The NFL is not expected to increase the salary cap as much this season due to uncertainty over fan attendances.
