The European Club Association has labeled FIFA's plan to host the World Cup every two years as "destructive."
FIFA has proposed that a men's World Cup should take place every two years as part of an overhauled calendar.
A decision the ECA has said would "lead to a direct and destructive impact on the club game."
The association, which represents more than 230 clubs, also criticized FIFA for a lack of consultation about its proposals.
ECA has followed with grave concern and alarm FIFA's launch of active PR campaigns and much pretense, apparently seeking to railroad through reforms to the IMC, European Club Association.
The ECA has now joined UEFA in their objection to FIFA's proposals of the reformed calendar.
The ECA agrees that a reform of the football calendar is needed but does not believe FIFA's solution is the right one.
