Gen Z Buys More Vinyl Records Than Millenials

A study of 4,041 people over the age of 13 has found that Generation Z buys more vinyl than millennials.
In the study, which was conducted by MRC Data, participants were asked about their musical influences, inspirations and purchases.
15% of Gen Z participants said they had bought a vinyl album within the last year.
while only 11% of millennials had purchases vinyl in the previous 12 months.
Sales of vinyl records in the UK in 2020 were the highest on record since the early 1990s.
According to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), 18% of all albums purchased in the UK in 2020 were vinyl records.
Vinyl contributed $232 million to total physical sales of $376 million in the first half of 2020, according to the RIAA.
Lana Del Rey’s Chemtrails Over The Country Club was the best-selling vinyl record in the UK in the first half of 2021.
While the Foo Fighters’ Medicine At Midnight was the second best-selling vinyl record.
