Hackers are claiming to have stolen 780 GB of data from EA, including the source code used in the company’s games.
We are investigating a recent incident of intrusion into our network where a limited amount of game source code and related tools were stolen, EA spokesperson.
The hackers have reportedly stolen the source code for ‘FIFA 21’ and the Frostbite Engine.
The Frostbite Engine is used as the base for many other high-profile games.
The company said that the “network intrusion” was not a ransomware attack.
No player data was accessed, and we have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy, EA Spokesperson.
EA is the latest publisher to be the victim of a major hack. Capcom and CD Projekt also suffered intrusions over the past year
