Love, Gilda opened up the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival at the Beacon Theater in New York on Wednesday night. The film presents the larger than life Gilda Radner, at times happy, other times not. Gilda started comedy in college and went on to be famous on SNL. She was sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer that would end her life at age 42. Radner was married to Gene Wilder until her death in 1989. The director Lisa D’Apolito fills the film with material from radner herself, punctuated by talking heads. It is an emotional documentary filled with laughs and material from her moving journey.
