A new study has found that experienced mothers report their sleep being more fragmented than first-time mothers.
The study from McGill University compared experienced parents of 6-month old children to their first-time counterparts.
Researchers found that experienced mothers rated their sleep worse than first-time mothers.
First-time mothers were also found to wake up fewer times during the night in comparison to experienced mothers.
However, total overall sleep time between both sets of mothers was the same despite rating their sleep quality differently.
The study found no difference between first-time fathers and experienced fathers.
