Pokémon GO developer Niantic is working on reverting a wave of false account bans that affected many innocent players.
This will be done for Trainers automatically, whether or not they have contacted us. We apologize for the error, Niantic.
The bans appear to be the result of a glitch in the game’s automated anti-cheat system.
Since Pokémon GO launched in 2016, Niantic has been continuously trying to crack down on cheaters.
Earlier this year, the developers said that they have banned over 5 million cheaters since 2020.
Every day, newer forms of cheating or spoofing tools are made available on the internet, and we are continuously working to combat these cheaters, Niantic
