A World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Argentina was abandoned minutes after kick-off due to quarantine rules.
Brazilian health officials came out to the pitch to stop the game as they claim three Argentinian players broke quarantine rules.
The incident happened hours after Brazil’s health authorities had said four of Argentina’s players had to quarantine.
The players were English Premier League stars Emiliano Buendia, Emiliano Martinez, Giovani lo Celso and Cristian Romero.
Brazil’s health regulator Anvisa claimed the players were told to remain isolated ahead of deportation.
[The four players] were directed to remain isolated while awaiting deportation, but they did not comply, Antonio Barra Torres, Director At Brazil's Health Regulator Anvisa.
The Argentine Football Association claims they had been in Brazil since Sept. 3 and complied with all health protocols.
