Amnesty International has urged David Beckham to speak out against the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Beckham recently signed a deal to become an ambassador for the tournament, which has been heavily criticized.
The tournament has been criticized for the human rights record of the host nation Qatar.
The country has brought in thousands of migrant workers to help build the infrastructure for the winter World Cup.
Amnesty has claimed that “thousands” of migrant deaths have not been properly investigated.
"We would urge him to learn about the deeply concerning human rights situation in Qatar and be prepared to speak out about it," Sacha Deshmukh, Amnesty International.
Earlier this year, players from Norway and Germany wore T-shirts showing support for migrant workers in Qatar.
