NHL Star Artemi Panarin Takes Leave After Assault Allegations From Russia

Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers is taking a leave of absence following allegations he assaulted a girl in 2011.
A Russian news site alleges that Panarin struck an 18-year-old woman in Latvia in 2011.
The source of the allegations is Panarin’s former KHL club head coach and known Putin supporter Andrei Nazarov.
Panarin has publicly criticized Vladimir Putin and recently posted the message “Freedom for Navalny” on Twitter.
In a statement, the New York Rangers claim that these allegations about Panarin are an intimidation tactic.
This is clearly an intimidation tactic being used against him for being outspoken on recent political events, The New York Rangers.
Panarin’s grandparents and other family members still live in Russia and the hockey star is said to be concerned for their safety.
